Hi my name is Marvin Permenter, I started Micro Specialists in 1981. After 18 years in the  Engineering field in and around the computer industry, an opportunity to get into the Building Automation field presented itself. We dug into the energy conservation field and did several large jobs as well as many smaller ones. Jobs such as Tuko in Finland, they own all the supermarkets in Finland and Sweden. We put together a Energy Plan for them with a design that there people could implement in all of their supermarkets. We designed large boiler control systems in Korea, Newell Corporation in Freeport, Forrest Hills Country Club. We designed a building automation system for Firestone stores that was implemented in all their stores across the country. A lighting control system for Spring Hill Mall, in Dundee, IL. We won the awards for a  High School Lighting control system, which saved them over 30% of their total electric. As energy pricing returned to normal everyone forgot about conservation, so we migrated into the computer business since we had been using them to control large buildings and their conditioning, and lighting systems.

In computers we have worked in various areas, in the early days we were the second AutoCad dealer in the Northern Illinois area. We supplied Cad systems to a lot of Rockford's manufacturing base and people like Rockford College. When they started their Engineering School, We supplied them with Cad software, Workstations and plotters to outfit their state of the art Engineering School. We have installed and serviced  Point of Sale System for Retail and Restaurants. We have worked quite a bit in the Document Imaging and data storage. General networking and office or manufacturing systems. We are Registered Microsoft OEM System Builders, we build all sizes of custom computer systems and servers. We design, configure, install and support Microsoft networks.

We have become very involved in the internet. We design Web Sites for both advertising or E-Commerce. We host both our sights and the sites that were built by other designers. We register your domain name and maintain it for you. (See Domain Registry)
